Miraflores is the most popular district for visitors to Lima. Built on high cliffs above the Pacific Ocean, it combines parks, hotels, restaurants and shopping with one of the city’s most important archaeological sites.
The Malecón
The Malecón is a boardwalk that runs for several kilometers along the top of the cliffs, with gardens, bicycle paths and wonderful views of the ocean. At sunset, you can watch the paragliders flying over the coast.
Parque del Amor
The Love Park is famous for its large sculpture El Beso (The Kiss) by the Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín, and for its colorful mosaic benches inspired by the work of Gaudí in Barcelona. It is one of the most romantic spots in Lima, especially at sunset.
Parque Kennedy
In the center of Miraflores, Parque Kennedy is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and the Church of the Virgen Milagrosa. It is also known for the many cats that live in the park.
Larcomar
Larcomar is a shopping center built into the cliffs, with shops, restaurants and terraces overlooking the Pacific.
Huaca Pucllana
In the middle of the district stands Huaca Pucllana, a great adobe pyramid built by the Lima culture about 1,500 years ago. Read more on our Huaca Pucllana page.
